Do you have a child with autism or difficulties with sensory processing? Or perhaps a little one who just has trouble sitting still? Join our specialist Youth Services Librarian, Jane Friess, for a sensory-friendly storytime on Saturday and a movie matinee on Sunday.

The Sensory Storytime is from 2-3pm on Saturday, December 19. This series of storytimes engages all of the senses through music, movement, stories and play. This non-traditional storytime format is designed for children who have autism, difficulties with sensory processing, or simply sitting still. REGISTER. (registration closed)

The Sensory Movie Matinee is from 2-3pm on Sunday, December 20. We will show Happy Feet (rated PG). Sensory-friendly screenings are designed for children with special needs. The films have quieter volume and turned-up lights. The environment is welcoming towards kids who need to move around, talk and sing during the screening. Animal crackers and water will be provided. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks. REGISTER. (registration closed)
