Computer Use @ Your Library
Your library offers a variety of computing options. We have Internet access computers, Microsoft Office products, catalog computers, and Wi-Fi computer access. You may print, in color or black & white, from any library computer. If you need assistance with any library computer, please ask for help at the Adult Services Desk.
Using the Online Catalog
You may use WNPL’s online catalog at any of the designated catalog stations, or from any Internet computer. You will also find catalog terminals scattered throughout the building – each one is marked with a “catalog” sign. Internet access is not available via the catalog computers. If you need help finding an item, please see the Adult Services Desk for assistance.
Using The Internet At WNPL
To use the Internet, you must have a WNPL library card OR a registered card from another library OR a driver’s license. Your card must be in good standing – not blocked, barred, or expired. If you card is not in good standing, our reservation system will not allow you to sign up for an Internet computer. Each library visitor may sign up to use the Internet twice a day, for 60 minutes each time.
To reserve an Internet computer:
- Select a computer you would like to use.
- If you have a library card, select “Log In as Patron” and enter the barcode number from the back without any spaces.For your PIN, use your phone number without the area code and without a dash (example: 2445150).
- If you have a guest pass, select “Log In as Guest” and enter the barcode number from your guest pass without any spaces. For your PIN, use the four-digit number provided on your guest pass.

Using The Computer Lab
The computer lab has 13 computers with a variety of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher. There is no time limit on the lab computers. Please note: Lab computers DO NOT have access to the Internet. The lab will close periodically for library-sponsored computer classes. A weekly schedule of lab closing times is posted outside the computer lab, to the left of the lab doors. If you need help using the computer lab, please ask the Adult Services Desk for assistance.
