We are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal skills to become our Human Resources Associate. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and/or 2 or more years of human resources-related experience preferred. Knowledge of human resources practices and legal compliance. Knowledge of time keeping and payroll processing software preferred (e.g. TimeForce 2, Paylocity). Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Responsibilities:Performs recruitment activities including job postings, placing ads, applications, and background checks and conducts new employee orientation. Serves as benefit administrator of health, retirement & deferred compensation plans; and compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Provides claim resolution and communication of benefits or changes to staff. Conducts annual open enrollment. Administers all payroll activities and reports and monitors performance evaluation program including new hire 90-day review. Completes wage survey and develops merit pool. Assists with the development and implementation of personnel policies, job descriptions, and maintains the employee handbook. Coordinates and maintains all personnel records including: personal and medical files; sick leave, vacation, or other absence records, anniversary dates, new employee forms, and change of status. Performs exit interviews and administrative updating/reporting upon employee termination. Maintains legal compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Classification and Rate of Pay:19.21 per hour (37.5 hour work week, Grade 12). Excellent benefit package.

Rate of Pay:$11.11/hour
Immediate Supervisor:Security Supervisor
Hours:14.25 Hours per Week: Thursday 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m.; every Saturday 9:0a.m.-5:15p.m. Tuesday 4:00p.m.-9:00p.m. (Summer Only); Alternating Sundays 1:00p.m.-5:15p.m. (Sunday hours are from Labor Day-Memorial Day)

Please noteWe are looking for someone who can work these hours throughout the year. The ideal candidate would also need to have flexibility in scheduling to fill in for days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Customer service and/or security background preferred. High school graduate.

  • Proven experience working with children, young adults and adults.
  • Well developed oral communication skills and good customer service skills a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve sensitive public relation matters with limited supervision.
Responsibilities:

  • Regularly patrols all public areas and library grounds. Observes activities and notes potential problem areas.

  • Enforces the library’s standards of public conduct. Advises supervisor or person-in-charge regarding action taken.

  • Serves as first contact for police if there is an emergency/problem that warrants being called.

  • Communicates/documents serious or repeated violations of behavior policy by individuals, and any other serious incidents or problems. Issues violations of standards tickets and bans individuals for a specific amount of time – attempts to get photo of banned individual.

  • Checks in registered meeting room users; monitors rooms and enforces meeting room policy.

  • Assists Facilities staff with meeting room setups.

  • Assumes responsibility for closing and securing library building.

  • Performs emergency maintenance tasks (i.e., snow removal, restroom cleaning, etc.).

  • Tidies public areas: returning chairs to tables, placing books on carts, picking up litter, etc.

  • Attends and participates in staff, department and other job-related meetings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
