Weinberg, Treasurer Jo Beckwith, Secretary Special Meeting October 4, 2011 Group Study Room Call to Order President Styrcula called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. Trustees present: Beckwith, Bretzlauf, Styrcula, and Weinberg Trustees absent: Diehl, Friedman Also present: Director Stephen Bero, Recording Secretary Laura Stone, Steve Bruszer of Berglund Construction, and Don McKay of Nagle Hartray Architecture Pledge of Allegiance President Styrcula led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Reading of the Library Mission Statement Vice President Bretzlauf read the mission statement of the Warren-Newport Public Library District. Correspondence, Communications, and public comments. a. Written - None b. Recognition of visitors and public comments - None Business: Approval of construction change order over $10,000.00 Director Bero was invited to comment. The floor was turned over to Steve Bruszer of Berglund Construction; then Don McKay of Nagle Hartray Architecture. CO #99133 Remedy temperature control in Children’s Department Trustee Bretzlauf moved and Trustee Beckwith seconded a motion that the Board approve Change Order #99133 to remedy the temperature control in the Children’s Department in the amount of $13,769.12. Trustee Diehl entered the meeting at 8:07 p.m. Trustee Diehl inquired about the need for additional thermostats, wiring and painting. Messrs. Bruszer and McKay provided explanation of the problem and the solution. The motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Beckwith, Bretzlauf, Styrcula, Weinberg Nays: Diehl Absent: Friedman Announcements Building and Ground Committee will meet on Wednesday, 10/12/11 at 7 p.m. Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, 10/13/11 at 8 p.m. The next Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10/18/11 at 7 p.m. Adjournment Trustee Weinberg moved to adjourn the special meeting.
