A new 3D printer was presented to our library by the Warren Township High School (WTHS) Trident Robotics team as an exciting step towards future collaboration in technology programming. Jahnvi Dubey, Senior WTHS student and Trident Robotics team leader, spoke to the WNPL Library Board of Trustees and presented the printer during the Board’s August meeting. WTHS mentors, teachers, and leaders, along with library staff, were also present.
The WTHS Trident Robotics team has led over 50 sessions of programming for our library community since 2016. Programs such as STEMbots, 3D Design and Printing and Hour of Code have remarkably expanded the variety of technology programs provided for area youth. Diana Sills, WNPL’s Head of Youth Services, stated, “Collaborating with this talented and dedicated group has greatly benefited patrons. We’re so appreciative of this opportunity! Huge thanks to the team, their sponsors, leaders and WTHS school administration.”
During her presentation, Dubey asserted, “…we hope that this printer will serve as a symbol of celebration for the success of the programs offered here at the library, and the amazing benefits that the people of this community have been able to reap.” The 3D printer was provided through a request made by the WTHS Trident Robotics team to the Abbott Employee Giving Campaign.
