Vacancy Notice - Part-Time Shelver

Classification:Grade 3
Rate of Pay:$8.33 per hour
Immediate Supervisor:Shelving Supervisor
Available Hours:Position #1: Averages 10 hours per week including
Monday 5 PM – 9 PM, Tuesday 5 PM – 9 PM,
& two weekends per month.

Position #2: Averages 10 hours per week including
Monday 5 PM – 9 PM, Thursday 5 PM – 9 PM,
and two weekends per month.

Sunday hours are from Labor Day – Memorial Day.

Qualifications:

  • Prefers to keep moving rather than sit at a desk (full range of body motion and
    ability to push/pull wheeled cart with up to 100 lbs of library materials required)

  • Understands the importance of getting the little things right

  • Is able to exercise sound judgment while working independently

  • Enjoys learning and embraces change

  • Is skilled in communicating both verbally and in writing

  • Has a working knowledge of basic computer programs and office equipment

  • Can work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, & weekends) as needed

  • Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent



    As a Part-Time Shelver, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Graciously welcoming and directing patrons to library resources

  • Using the automated conveyor system to check in and sort materials

  • Checking the contents and physical condition of returned materials

  • Sorting and shelving materials in numerical and alphabetical order

  • Retrieving materials from indoor and outdoor book returns

  • Maintaining the order and appearance of library collections

Vacancy Notice - IT Support Technician

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in an IT discipline

  • A+ certified

  • 2 years of IT technical hands-on experience using a combination of hardware and software, operating system and client-server apps, in an enterprise-wide network computing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of computer equipment.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Mac operating systems.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and determine course of action for complex technical problems.

  • Ability to communicate technical problems within an IT team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs day-to-day installation, minor repair, and troubleshooting of the library's network hardware and software, peripherals, office equipment, and other technology-related areas.

  • Reviews and responds to IT requests using issue tracking software.

  • Provides assistance to both staff and patrons on the use of library equipment and software.

  • Coordinates system hardware and software upgrades with library departments and staff to ensure minimal downtime.

  • Works with the Systems Administrator to isolate and correct network related issues.

  • .Sets up, arranges, and removes AV-related equipment for events and meetings.

  • Responds to off-hours emergencies as needed and works approved extended hours to meet critical deadlines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full-range of body motion including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires bending, stooping, reaching in tight spaces, shoveling and climbing stairs and ladders.

Job Vacancy Notice - Facilities Maintenance Technician I

Rate of Pay:$13.22-$22.14 per hour DOQ
Immediate Supervisor:Head of Technology and Facilities
Available Hours:Full time 37.5 hours per week: Tues.-Thurs.1:00pm-9:00pm; Fri. 8:00am-4:00pm; Sat. 8:00am-4:00pm.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years related facility and maintenance experience

  • Two years technical and/or mechanical training and education

  • Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical equipment and/or automation may be substituted for formal training

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Proficiency at reading schematics and blueprints.

  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine and scheduled general maintenance activities including but not limited to light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, minor HVAC, carpentry, building and office door adjustments, electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds equipment.

  • Performs general inspections of building, roofs, grounds including but not limited to common areas, restrooms, dumpster areas, etc., and responds to maintenance requests using issue tracking software.

  • Monitors computerized HVAC management system and troubleshoots immediate HVAC issues.

  • Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, scaffolding, wired and wireless microphones, and video projectors to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

  • Responds to heating/air conditioning requests for offices, conference rooms, and open areas.

  • Monitors computerized HVAC management system and troubleshoots any immediate HVAC system issues.

  • Contacts contracted service providers for service when needed

  • Responds to off-hours emergencies as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
