“Luck of the Draw” Bikers for Books
Dick Welton Memorial Ride and Road Rally
Sunday, August 27, 2017

Join us at Jesse Oaks Food & Drink at 18490 W. Old Gages Lake Rd. in Gages Lake for a ride in memory of former Gurnee mayor Dick Welton!

Schedule:  9:30 am – registration at Jesse Oaks; 10 am to noon – ride; Noon – lunch; 1 pm – afterparty
Live music; raffles and 50/50; Cars welcome; Rain or shine

Cost: $25 per vehicle includes lunch ($30 day of event); Afterparty only: $10 includes lunch; T-shirt (optional): $10

Route Information and Links – The ride travels west to the Volo Auto Museum, north to Kickstand Bar & Grill in Camp Lake, Wis., east to the Welton Memorial in Gurnee and back to Jesse Oaks, 66 miles and two hours of beautiful roads and scenery.

Legacy Tree

The Legacy Tree is a permanent display recognizing the generosity of donors to the Warren-Newport Public Library. The tree offers friends, families, organizations, and businesses a way to honor, thank, memorialize, or acknowledge those who are worthy of special appreciation. The leaf colors and boulder sizes signify varying levels of contribution:

  • Bronze – $500
  • Silver – $1,000
  • Gold – $3,000
  • Small Boulder – $5,000
  • Large Boulder – $10,000

The Legacy Tree was donated in the memory of T. R. and Ruth McConnell by their daughter Carol Ruth McConnell in 1998.

Donations of Materials

Donations of materials such as books, DVDs and music CDs go directly to The Friends of the Warren-Newport Public Library. Please note that the Friends do not accept donations of textbooks, computer manuals, magazines, or VHS tapes. Please view our donation guidelines
