Staying Well in the Community
The Community Care Connection, a mobile health unit from Rosalind Franklin University, will be
available in the WNPL parking lot on Thursday, March 1, from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Free health
screenings include blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass and waist
measurement. These screenings are offered on a first come, first serve basis. No registration
required.
Maker Monday in The Vault
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to make and create in The Vault on Monday, March 5, from 7-8
p.m. For this Maker Monday, participants will make paper shamrocks to decorate for St.
Patrick’s Day. No registration is required for this program.
Fandom Club for Teens
Every third Thursday of the month, teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join together for the
Fandom Club. Come and celebrate various fandoms like music, books, movies, TV shows and
more. Participants can expect a themed snack and a fun craft to accompany the discussion.

The Friends Sale
Score some great deals at the Friends of the Library Saturday Sale! The next one is coming up
on Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find books for adults, teens and kids in great
condition plus hundreds of DVDs and CDs. Stock your home library and support your local
library at the same time! We greatly appreciate your continued support of this event.
Creative Writing Contest Deadline
The deadline for all submissions is Sunday, March 11, at 5 p.m. Find more information on our

Mother Jones and the March of the Mill Children
Actor Betsey Means returns to the library on Tuesday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. She comes to tell
the story of Mother Jones and her march to bring awareness to the crime of child labor at the
turn of the 20th century. Don’t miss this enlightening show. Please register online at wnpl.info or

Bingo in the Books 2018
Grab your friends for a night of lucky Bingo with a literary twist on Friday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person or $180 for a table of eight. Choose a book theme for your table and
feel free to dress up and decorate (or not)! Snacks and adult beverages will be available for
purchase. Also, try your luck at over 20 raffle baskets and fabulous prizes. Register before
March 2 in person at the Check-Out Desk or online at wnpl.info. Tickets will not be sold at the
door. This event is for ages 21 and over.
DIY for Tweens
Kids in grades 3-5 are welcome to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us on Saturday, March 17,
from 2-3 p.m. Attendees will create good luck coins even leprechauns will envy! Share some
luck with family and friends by giving them these custom-made tokens. All materials will be

The Warren-Newport Public Library District, founded by volunteers in 1973, serves a population
of approximately 67,000 within a 55-square mile area that covers all or most of Warren and
Newport townships, including Gurnee, Wadsworth, Park City, Wildwood, Grandwood Park, Old
Mill Creek, and portions of Grayslake, Millburn, Lake Villa, Libertyville and Waukegan. Most
