Warren-Newport Public Library District Gurnee, Illinois Suggestions & Questions from Our Library Users September 2020 Building-related comments 1. Please put a public sign street sign saying now open, limited hours mask required, capacity limited. Thanks. Thank you for the suggestion. We will examine what local ordinances allow us to do in terms of signage and add outdoor signage where allowed. Service-related comments 1. With remote learning, it would be great if the Library offered printable worksheets K-K6. Have also seen online interactive games for learning! Math, etc. Although we are not offering printable worksheets in the library at this time, our library staff have curated a variety of online resources to help with remote learning. These resources are available in our website, and can be found at the following link: https://www.wnpl.info/free-online-resources/. The page includes printables, interactive games, virtual tours, homework help, and much more! Computer-related comments 1. PLEASE INCREASE TIME ALLOWANCE ON COMPUTER USE. I am doing a resume and just trying to figure out how to open documents takes a lot of time I have barely started on the actual resume and my time was already up. So frustrating! I was told to come back another time because I am not allowed to log back in. I do not have MS Office at home, and driving to the Library everyday is a real inconvenience. Today is 9.01, 12:05 pm and there are 3 people using the computers that includes me. I hope you consider increasing the time allowance. Writing a resume is not a simple task! I need to get back to a paying job. THANK YOU! 2. Dear PTB, There is no reason you cannot increase the computer time from 30 minutes to 1 hour. There is nobody here and the virus affects older people. There is absolutely nothing to worry about increasing the computers from 30 min to 60 min. Warren-Newport Public Library District Gurnee, Illinois You will be happy to know that we have increased computer use time from a half an hour to an hour. We are still asking that you limit your time in the library for the safety of staff and other patrons. Thank you for taking the time to help us improve our service to you. If suggested a title for purchase, we have passed it along to staff members who order materials. Ryan Livergood, Executive Director Patron comments appear here unabridged and unedited.
