Adult Services Associate (14 hours per week)

Job Title:Adult Services Associate

Available Hours:Part-time averages 14 hours per week. Hours are including Monday from 5:00PM-9:00PM, Tuesday from 5:00PM-9:00PM and Wednesday from 9:00PM -1:00PM and an average of one weekend per month. Weekend hours are Saturday from 9:00AM-5:00PM and Sunday from 1:00PM-5:00PM (Sunday hours are from Labor Day to Memorial Day)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, LTA, or Associate's degree.

  • Previous library experience preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of technology, including computers, various e-devices, Microsoft Office and the internet

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent customer service skills with a strong background in working with the public.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work positively in a team environment.

  • Requires a full range of body motion, including standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist library users in the selection, organization and interpretation of library materials.

  • Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to library patrons of all ages.

  • Teach public to use WNPL print, internet including electronic resources and technology equipment.

  • Place holds and initiate interlibrary loan requests.

  • Troubleshoot minor problems of equipment (computers, copiers, etc.).

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Graphic Artist - 19 hours per week

Job TitleGraphic Artist
DepartmentAdministration/Communications
Hours:Part-time averages 19 hours a week; includes daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours. Weekday hours to include Tuesday-Friday with some flexibility
Rate of Pay:$18.25/hour
Principal Responsibilities:

  • Designs and creates logos, posters, signs, flyers, brochures and other printed and digital promotional materials that generate a positive public appeal to the library. Write basic promotional copy.

  • Assists in the layout, design and production of the library newsletter under the direction of the Head of Communications.

  • Assists in implementing library displays and bulletin boards.

  • Produces quality photographs of library events and programs, staff and visitors and documents building changes/upgrades.

  • Assists staff in other departments with promotional ideas for library programs and special events.

  • Formulates bid specifications for the purchase of outside printing and production of printed and promotional materials and negotiates with vendors.

  • Provides library wide decoration and interior design support.

  • Coordinates duplicating and collating materials, utilizing volunteers whenever possible.

  • Assists in maintaining department supplies inventory.

  • Completes special projects within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ experience in graphic design.

  • Able to write basic promotional copy.

  • Effectively communicate in English, both orally and written. Bilingual a plus, but not required.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use desktop publishing, photo video editing, and related software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Acrobat and Spark.

  • Familiar with social media and content management systems, such as WordPress.

  • Basic computer skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and a working knowledge of office equipment.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while working independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Basic knowledge of pre-press production.

  • Knowledge of SLR and mobile device digital photography.

  • Portfolio of original work required; online portfolio preferred.

Job Vacancy Notice - Facilities Maintenance Technician I

Classification:Grade 9
Rate of Pay:$14.25-$19.06 per hour DOQ
Immediate Supervisor:Head of Technology and Facilities
Available Hours:Full time 37.5 hours per week: Monday-Friday 7:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years related facility and maintenance experience

  • Two years technical and/or mechanical training and education

  • Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical equipment and/or automation may be substituted for formal training

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Proficiency at reading schematics and blueprints.

  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine and scheduled general maintenance activities including but not limited to light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, minor HVAC, carpentry, building and office door adjustments, electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds equipment.

  • Performs general inspections of building, roofs, grounds including but not limited to common areas, restrooms, dumpster areas, etc., and responds to maintenance requests using issue tracking software.

  • Monitors computerized HVAC management system and troubleshoots immediate HVAC issues.

  • Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, scaffolding, wired and wireless microphones, and video projectors to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

  • Responds to heating/air conditioning requests for offices, conference rooms, and open areas.

  • Monitors computerized HVAC management system and troubleshoots any immediate HVAC system issues.

  • Contacts contracted service providers for service when needed

  • Responds to off-hours emergencies as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full-range of body motion including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires bending, stooping, reaching in tight spaces, shoveling, and climbing stairs and ladders.

  • Must be able to move a cart loaded with 100 lbs. and lift materials up to 70 lbs.
