Mobile Services

WNPL Mobile ServicesThe Mobile Services Department strives to provide equitable access to a wide variety of library services for district residents.  Through material delivery, on-the-go programming, mobile technology, and community partnerships, Mobile Services brings the library directly to the greater community.

 

 

Mobile Services currently offers the following:

· Early Learning Services for preschools and childcare centers
· School Services for elementary, middle, and high schools
· Doorstep Delivery for patrons who have difficulty obtaining library materials
· Senior Services for residents of retirement, assisted living, and memory care facilities
· Community Stops in residential neighborhoods throughout the district
· Voter Registration services to register new voters at your organization or event
· Remote Return Site located at the corner of Hunt Club Rd. and Dada Dr.

The library is evolving! Join us for an informational session to explore exciting new ways we’ll bring the library experience directly to our community. We’re moving beyond the traditional bookmobile and focusing on innovative programs that meet the community where they are.  Mon., May 13

Where in Gurnee is the Bookmobile?  Use your super sleuthing skills and participate in the Find the Bookmobile Challenge by visiting any of our Community Stops between now and May 11, 2024.  Receive a stamp every time you find the Bookmobile and earn a prize when you collect 5 stamps!  Find clues to the Bookmobile’s whereabouts on the Bookmobile page.

Join us at Warren Township Park to celebrate National Plant a Flower Day!  Grades 3 – 5.  Registration is required.  Tues., March 12

Join us for a Pokémon Club adventure!  Scavenge through community parks to find your favorite Pokémon and partake in Pokémon activities.  Be sure to dress for the weather!  Grades 3 – 8.  Registration not required.  Fri., March 15; Fri., April 19; Fri., May 17

Drop by the Warren Township Teen Center for a different mindful activity each month.  A membership to the Teen Center is required.  Grades 6 – 12.  Registration not required.  Tues., March 19; Tues., April 23; Tues., May 21

Celebrate Earth Day in the great outdoors!  Join us at Warren Township Park to celebrate Earth Day with a nature scavenger hunt and science experiment.  Grades K – 3.  Registration is required.  Sat., April 13

Community Care Connection with Rosalind Franklin University
The Community Care Connection is Rosalind Franklin University’s mobile health vehicle that travels throughout Lake County, offering residents a variety of free health screenings. Appointments are not necessary.  WNPL will be on-site offering library services and resources, including library card sign-up, materials checkout, and more.  Thurs., March 14; Thurs., April 11; Thurs., May 9
