An employee of Warren-Newport Public Library is under quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19. Upon notification, library administration initiated contact tracing protocols and instructed the staff member to immediately self-quarantine.
As a result, contactless pickup and phone services are suspended Fri., Feb. 12, and Sat., Feb. 13. Email and chat reference services are available Fri., Feb. 12, from 12-6 pm and Sat., Feb. 13, from 10 am-4 pm. The Library building is currently closed due to COVID mitigations.
Close contact (defined as being within six feet with or without the use of a face covering, for fifteen minutes or longer, within a 48-hour period) with members of the public was not discovered. WNPL has instituted separate deep cleanings of the areas where the employee works.
