Virtual STEAM Ahead: Drawing Classes

Calling all artists in grades 2-12!  As part of our summer reading program,  WNPL welcomes back popular art teacher Christine Thornton!

This summer, she will teach two upcoming virtual classes:

How to Draw Dragons” Thursday, June 18

Dragons can be friendly or sinister, beautiful or ugly, but they’re always magical! Kids will first learn about dragons, and examine them with an artist eye. Then art teacher Christine Thornton will demonstrate how to draw a dragon, and kids will create their own, with lots of resources to help guide them.

How to Draw Kawaii (Japanese for ‘cute’) Characters” Thursday, June 25

Art teacher Christine Thornton will walk the kids through what makes the Kawaii style uniquely its own. Everyone will practice drawing together, and then kids can choose which characters they’d like to create, again, with lots of resources to help guide them!

These online classes will include an instructional video, and a virtual space to share and connect with the teacher and classmates.

Both classes begin at 10:00 and registration is required.
