The newest Star Trek film, “Star Trek into Darkness,” opens Friday and is widely anticipated to be a blockbuster, so get in on the fun this weekend.
Join CLC professors John and Maria Jose Tenuto for a fun and detailed presentation about the classic 1967 Star Trek episode “Space Seed,” which introduced the world to the villain Khan (Ricardo Montalban). Through rare photos and production materials, the lecture explores every facet of the making of this episode.

The Community Care Connection, a mobile health unit from Rosalind Franklin University, visits WNPL Thurs., May 9, 10am-2pm in the library parking lot.
Free health screenings are offered for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass and waist measurement.

Have you tried out one of our new Nooks yet? WNPL now offers 20 Nook Simple Touch E-readers preloaded with popular fiction and nonfiction best-sellers. Anyone with a valid library card registered at WNPL can check one out for three weeks.
