National Library Week 2020

national Library Week, Library Week, libraries

April 19-25, 2020 is National Library Week, an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians and library staff play in transforming lives and communities. In these unprecedented times, libraries continue to play vital roles in their communities. Libraries are much more than their physical buildings, extending services virtually through online collections, programming, and other resources.

During uncertainty, libraries offer stability in collections and services that allow communities to learn, grow and flourish. Librarians help with referrals and resources to help patrons decipher fake news, learn new skills, and enrich their lives. Even while our building is closed, WNPL staff are working hard behind the scenes to provide greater access to digital resources, develop online programming, and share ideas for extending service now and in the future.

Now, more than ever, as we face challenges as a library community, WNPL is here for you. Explore a new chapter with your library. We’re all in this together.

Happy National Library Week!
